Classification Of Artificial Intelligence-

Artificial Intelligence can be broadly classified into three different categories namely, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) and Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) so as to have a better understanding about each.

Understanding Artificial Narrow Intelligence-

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) also commonly known as weak AI or narrow AI. Most of the smart applications that are powered by AI that are in use today are powered by Artificial Narrow Intelligence. Computer Systems or Machines that are powered by ANI are only capable of executing of narrow tasks & they are bounded by several narrow constraints & limitations. Considering its weak abilities, Narrow AI is only capable of mimicking human intelligence rather than completely replicating it.

Classifying Narrow AI

  • Reactive AI- Doesn’t have inbuilt memory or data storage capabilities.
  • Limited Memory AI- It has memory & data storage capabilities & enables machines to perform statistical analysis on data. When combined with Deep Learning, this form of Narrow AI gives rise to several advanced applications.
